For many years I suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and numerous allergies. It reached a point in the mid 1980’s where it took over my life.
For many years I was a contractor. I worked on and fixed peoples’ homes. By about 1986 allergies and fatigue had forced me to quit my business.
I had already been experiencing seasonal allergies (hayfever) since childhood. Now I was experiencing full blown sensitivities to milk and wheat and then along came the kicker, I was now allergic to renovation dust and sawdust.
I was at a dead end.
Looking back at that time I can now say that I am very grateful to have gone through the experience of Chronic Fatigue because it forced me to LISTEN to my body and my body was telling me lots. I learned that our health has four aspects, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual and to have vibrant health all of these aspects must be in balance.
I began to truly tune in and honour my body’s preferences for food. Learning applied kinesiology helped a lot but also just experiencing how my body responded whenever I put certain foods in my mouth was an eye opener. I also began to respect my need for more sleep and I discovered how important it was for me to create healthy boundaries with others in order to conserve my own energy.
Now the only remnant that is left is in late summer I still experience some irritation from ragweed pollen and I deal with that without using drugs. My favourite remedy is Young Living’s peppermint oil. Peppermint oil has been known for centuries as an aid to the liver and digestion. It also is a very effective anti-inflammatory.
Whenever my sinuses and mouth area get itchy, inflamed and stuffed up because of allergies all I do is put 1-3 drops of peppermint oil on my tongue and the problem is solved.
Please be aware that by far most essential oils contain large quantities of chemicals in them, even if the label says they are “all natural”.Young Living Essential Oils is my all time favourite.
